Skylar (Boy Blue) and Jasmine (Girl Yellow)

Lisa and Richard Duncan have successfully brought Jasmine and Skylar into the world.

Jasmine was born first, March the 19th, at 8 am approximately,
and we suspect that she will always make sure that Skylar knows that she is the oldest. Skylar was moments behind.

Lisa is in a hospital in Vancouver, and Richard is there helping with the feedings.

Lisa reports that she has not changed a diaper yet. Richard has done it all. They are actually living as a family in the hospital, and the babies have not left them since birth.

We will have pictures up on the web site in a day or two.

Eighteen weeks and growing...

Hi everyone, hope you are having as good a day as we are!

Just had another peek at the little bambinos and they look perfect.  The ultrasound went really well, they are positioned head to head and were even giving each other a punch.  They have their own placentas, are dichorionic and diamniotic which means they each have their own separate amniotic sac covered by its own chorion.  This is the best scenario for carrying and delivery.  The technician asked us if we wanted to know the sexes, but we declined.  It was hard though.  Rich however was behind the technician with the full on view of the screen motioning to me that he was seeing a penis!!  He's hoping more than anything!  Only Roy, our technician really knows though.  Roy also said that they are almost exactly the same in length and weight and have the same amount of amniotic fluid.  They are 10 INCHES already.....each!  I really can't comprehend that.  The test results also came back today from the triple marker screening test.  This is a genetic test taken from a blood sample to see if there are any genetic problems foreseen.  They passed with flying colours!  So, we had a great day.  Prenatal yoga this morning was a little uncomfortable because I had to drink 4 glasses of water prior to yoga and hold it until after the ultrasound!  But it was worth it.  So, hope to hear from you all soon.

Take care, Lisa & Rich+2   xoxo

ps we have some hospital tours in Vancouver in the next couple of weeks and need to decide where we want to deliver.  Then we'll choose a specialist, someone with a lot of high risk delivery experience.

Hi John, how are you doing?  Everything is going well so far with the twins.  No problems at all.  Starting to show a wee bit.

Rich is over the initial shock and I think is excited about everything.  It will be life altering for us, but I'm very happy about the news.

Cheers, Lisa
